The use of electric two-wheelers is gradually picking up pace in many countries, and Hero MotoCorp is ready to increase market share. Currently famous for its dominance in the commuter bike market, Hero has been claimed to be preparing for an electric Hero Splendor, to launch in 2027. This decision is quite in line with the double-edged vision of the firm to popularize electric mobility solutions in India while remaining accessible to the larger market.
Seeking Mass Market Supremacy
Currently dubbed as AEDA on the work floor, Hero Splendor Electric is currently in the production process at the company’s advanced technology center in Jaipur. According to industry information, this project is one of the largest investment projects of Hero, which is planning to deliver cost-effective, safe and efficient electric motorcycles for cost-sensitive personal dwellers and small business people.
The all-electric version of the Splendor is set to continue the success of the ICE Splendor, which, for years, has been the top-selling motorcycle in India. Because of this, Hero is targeting the commuter segment with expectations of attaining a formidable scale of production estimated at 200,000 Splender Electric units per year.
The second development strategy was to build on the electric portfolio.
Currently, Hero MotoCorp is developing six new electric vehicles that will meet various classes of consumers in the market. These are a commuter motorcycle, a premium electric bike, and a dirt bike that the companies plan to release in the next 2-3 years.
Lynx Electric Dirt Bike
An upcoming product to release is the Lynx, the electric dirt bike, which is due for release in 2026. This dirt bike is mainly targeted for developed international markets and is expected to manufacture 10,000 units of the bike in a year.
Acro Learner Dirt Bike
Hero has also patented the Acro learner dirt bike for kids, through which the company expects younger residents and parents seeking safe and beginner elective children's electric vehicles.
Exclusive Electric Motorcycle under Project ADZA
Hero is also involved in two upcoming electric motorcycles under Project ADZA. These bikes will have the power and performance factor equivalent to 150cc and 250cc ICE motorcycles appealing to the young, stylish and performance enthusiast group. These models have enhanced features and sporty looks and will hopefully capture the rising market of high-end electric motorbikes both in India and other global markets.
The Road Map for the Future of the Hero MotoCorp
This is Hero MotoCorp’s vision journey to electric mobility that shows the company’s vision that has been set in the strategy leading to sustainable and innovative future. Using its dominant market position and technology base the company is ready to take a large slice of the electric two-wheelers market. To achieve a target of 2,50,000 electric motorcycles per year by 2027-2028 Hero is set to disrupt the Indian EV market.
